Walk it Off Welcomes Two New Staff Members

Walk It Off is pleased to welcome two new staff members to our team! We are happy to introduce our new Spinal Cord Injury Facility Assistant, Jennifer, and our newest Spinal Cord Injury Recovery Trainer, Taylor. We have been getting to know them over the past month and we think you will enjoy working with them as much as we do!

Jennifer has had years of experience working in offices, specifically with Accounting and bookkeeping. Jen received her accounting certificate from ICS Canada in 2011. Jen will be helping us out with our Administration here at Walk It Off as well as helping out the trainers when they need help with transfers, the FES bike and LiteGait!

On top of this, Jen is a very active individual; she enjoys running, swimming, biking and plays competitive soccer. She also has two daughters who keep her busy with their own activities such as dance, ringette and coaching their soccer teams. In her spare time, Jen and her family like spending time at their new cottage.

Taylor is our newest SCI Recovery Trainer! She recently graduated from Wilfred Laurier University with an Honours degree in Kinesiology and Physical Education. Taylor is also a CSEP certified Personal Trainer. During her undergrad Taylor worked at the Movement Disorder Research Centre (MDRC) where she assisted in exercise programming for individuals living with Parkinson’s Disease. Taylor also volunteered at Kid’s Ability in Waterloo working with their swimming and horseback riding therapy programs. These experiences allowed Taylor to learn to work with varying disabilities, see how exercise can slow disease progression, and improve quality of life and health.

Taylor has been a competitive dancer for 21 years and was a member of the Laurier dance team. In her free time, she enjoys participating in yoga and dance, traveling and spending time with her friends and family.

We are very excited to have both Jen and Taylor join us here at Walk It Off! They are both bringing their own special talents to our team and they look forward to meeting you the next time you come in the Walk It Off!
