Kevin Mills - Walk it Off RecoveryKevin Mills  Saturday, May 24, 1980-Tuesday, April 29,2025

It is with great sadness that we share the unexpected passing of Kevin Mills at home on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, in his 44th year.

Beloved husband of Heather Cairns-Mills for 17 wonderful years, and devoted father to their son, Evan. Cherished son of Kenneth and Barbara Mills, and loving brother of Laura (Joe Stubbs).

Kevin dedicated his life to helping others as an Advanced Care Paramedic with Toronto Paramedic Services. His compassion, strength, and unwavering commitment to his community were evident in everything he did.

An avid runner and rock climber, Kevin loved to travel and challenge himself through these passions. At the age of 28, he sustained a Spinal Cord Injury that resulted in quadriplegia. True to his spirit, Kevin refused to let that define him. In an extraordinary act of perseverance and courage, he became the first quadriplegic to hand-cycle across Canada, inspiring countless people along the way. He was a true trailblazer—a force to be reckoned with—and a beacon of resilience and hope.

The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to the York Region Paramedics and Southlake Regional Health Centre for their care and efforts.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Newmarket Community Centre and Lions Hall (Rooms 1 & 2).
